You already know that for every child who finds a family through international adoption, there are countless others who don’t.  Although orphanage directors and caretakers work tirelessly to provide for the children left behind, resources are often stretched thin.  FRUA’s nationwide Grow Bag program was created to help those left behind.

What’s a Grow Bag?  A Grow Bag is an assortment of medicines, vitamins, formula, diaper cream, toys and clothing donated by an adopting family to their child’s orphanage.  FRUA packs up all the items in a duffle bag for you, which you can bring with you and leave at the orphanage.

Where do the items come from?  Members and their friends and family donate items.  If you’d like to make a donation or have questions about what might be appropriate to donate (our needs vary depending on what’s already been given) please don’t hesitate to give us a call!

Interested in bringing a Grow Bag on your upcoming adoption trip?  You may simply request a Grow Bag by calling Jennifer Mayotte, the Minnesota Grow Bag Coordinator, at 763-585-0884 and making arrangements to pick a bag up before traveling; the Grow Bag is free for members.
