| FRUA (Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoptions) is a
national support group for families who have adopted or are interested
in adopting children from Russia, Ukraine and other Eastern European
countries. Founded in 1993, FRUA now serves more than 2,000 families
nationwide. A quarterly newsletter (Family Focus), an extensive
educational website (www.frua.org)
and a national telephone hotline are just some of the resources that
are provided by the national organization.
FRUA's Minnesota chapter started in October, 1999 with 14
families and has grown to more than 50 families in its short history.
FRUA-MN is a parent-run support network that offers social and cultural
events, educational opportunities and information about the adoption
process. Our mission is to
strengthen the lives of children born in Eastern Europe and the
families connected
to them.
